Patrick O'Neill Continues Mastery of Formula Mazda Challenge
Sweeps second consecutive double race weekend

March 12, 2007. Sonoma, CA. For the second consecutive weekend Patrick O'Neill, of San Francisco, California, continued to display his mastery of Infineon Raceway, rolling to victory in rounds three and four of the Formula Mazda Challenge at the Sonoma, California road course.

The #64 O'Neill Construction World Speed Motorsport Pro Formula Mazda is quickly becoming a fixture at the front of the field as O'Neill led every lap of both Saturday's 17-lap and Sunday's 19-lap events held under beautiful spring conditions.

"Once again I have to thank my crew at World Speed Motorsports for preparing an excellent car throughout the weekend, the car worked perfectly," O'Neill commented. "The competition in the series is pretty close so to come away with two more victories this weekend is awesome and I'm already looking forward to our next race weekend in April!"

While O'Neill pulling away from the field on Saturday the battle for second place was intense as Richard Fullerton and Chris Cumming, who qualified second and third respectively, battled for the position. Vancouver, British Columbia resident Cumming, in the #26 World Speed Motorsports Pro Formula Mazda, managed to get the upper hand at the start to take the second spot and was able to hold off Fullerton, from Aspen, Colorado, until lap six when Fullerton was able to retake the position in the #55 RBF World Speed Pro Formula Mazda.

Sunday would continue to smile of O'Neill as his competitors fought for position, led by Dave House in the #86 Brocade World Speed Motorsports Pro Formula Mazda. House, from Saratoga, California, jumped from fifth to second on the opening lap and held on to capture his first podium of the season. Joining O'Neill and House on the podium was Fullerton with his second podium of the weekend.

Standard Formula Mazda drivers also took to the track on Saturday and Sunday for rounds three and four of the Mazdapalooza championship with Shawn Westerhoff earning his first victory of the season in the #55 Verus Technology Solutions Standard Formula Mazda ahead of Doug Smith in the #11 Sutro Eyewear Blitzkrieg Racing Standard Formula Mazda. Rounding out the podium was 2005 Mazdapalooza Champion Chaz Lemmon in the #78 Red Line Oil Pacific Coast Racing Standard Formula Mazda. On Sunday Smith would claim the top spot as the solo Standard Formula Mazda in the event.

Rounds Five and Six of the Formula Mazda Challenge and Mazdapalooza Championship will be held at Infineon Raceway on April 19-22.
